RFID Installation, Reloading, and Balance Inquiry

Now that the government is enforcing the use of RFID in its major expressways, car owners are lining up to get their RFID stickers in both north and south expressways. I got my EasyTrip from Petron Marilao NLEX. I had to go there twice because they only have 100 stocks per day. On my second visit, I was fourth from the last to get RFID. It was only 10am.

Two weeks later, I got my Autosweep from the southbound lane of Nichols Toll Plaza. The line was short and I got my RFID in less than 30 minutes.

How to Reload Your RFID using E-Wallets

Upon installation, the cashier will tell you where to load your RFID: 7-11, GCash, Paymaya, and other outlets. I prefer to go cashless so I tried loading both EasyTrip and Autosweep using Paymaya, GCash, and BPI. All three worked for me.

For Paymaya, the steps are pretty straightforward. Just open your app, press Bills, press Toll, and you will see both EasyTrip and Autosweep in the options. Follow the screen prompt and you’re good to go. There will be a P10 charge for every transaction.

For GCash, the steps are pretty much the same. In your app, choose Pay Bills, Transportation, and in the next screen you will see both EasyTrip and Autosweep in the options. You will be prompted to enter your account number and an option to put your email to get a confirmation if your load was successful.

For BPI, go to Payments/Load and press Load E-Wallet. You will be shown three steps to do: choose which of your accounts you would like to load from (if you have multiple BPI accounts), select the E-Wallet, and put the amount you would like to load. Under the E -Wallet option, you will see a list of unenrolled wallets. Choose either EasyTrip or Autosweep. Follow the prompts.

How to Register and Check Your Balance

To register your Autosweep, go here and fill in the details. For EasyTrip, use this link. Many people encountered problems with registration. I can think of two reasons: the Autosweep website is getting overwhelmed with too many registrations, and your registration details haven’t been encoded into their system. In my case, I didn’t have problems with my registration. Two hours after the installation of my Autosweep, my details are already encoded and I already got the correct amount when I did a balance inquiry. My suggestion for those who encountered problems is to repeat the registration using an incognito window (sometimes it’s a cache problem with your computer). If this doesn’t work, try it again the following day. In the mean time, if you have to travel and use the expressways right away, go through the cash toll gates. This goes for both Autosweep and EasyTrip.

To check your Autosweep balance, just text “Autosweep BALINQ <Card Number>” to 0917-860-8655. I use the card number because I still don’t have a plate and my conduction number gets an error. To check your EasyTrip balance, enter your account number here.

As of October 23, SMC announced that the November 2 deadline for the issuance of RFID is extended to November 30.
